Microtiter Plates
Parallel's Silicon Microarray Technology
silicon microtiter plates in 384, 1536 and the all-new 6144 format
plates are available in full SBS format sizes or half-sizes. Since
the surface of these silicon plates are entirely silica, they
are as inert and cleanable as glass but with even greater thermal
stability. The plates can be washed and reused and or can be thoroughly
decontaminated using such vigorous procedures such as heating
to 1000°C or boiling in aqua regia. We can custom modify these
plates for you. Examples include microtiter plates that can be
heated via a deposited resistive film or plates incorporating
built-in fiber optics. We will be happy to design and build nonstandard
plates for your applications. Holders to adapt these plates to
your apparatus can also be fabricated.
Silicon-Polypropylene
Hybrid Microtiter or Filter Plates
These
plates are available in a 384 format and consist of a polypropylene
well array connected with chemically resistant epoxy to a thin,
porous, micromachined Si membrane. They are inexpensive enough
to be used a disposable commodity. One current use for these plates
are to contain small amounts of controlled pore glass for DNA
oligonucleotide synthesis.
